Mystery authors come in all kinds of flavors. For example, Diana Orgain comes to her role as a mystery writer inspired by the transformational experience of motherhood—battling sleep deprivation, diaper blowouts, and breastfeeding mishaps. She says she muddled through the creation of her first manuscript, Bundle of Trouble, in between diaper changes I’m reading Denise Dietz’s mystery Throw Darts at a Cheesecake. Look over her titles, and it is pretty clear she is either a habitual dieter or just has an obsession about food:
- Footprints in the Butter
- Strangle a Loaf of Italian Bread
- Beat Up a Cookie
- Throw Darts at a Cheesecake
- Chain a Lamb Chop to the Bed
I was an entrepreneur in the information technology industry; thus, you probably will not be surprised to learn that my mysteries are built around the character Mark Rollins who just happens to be the retired founder of a tech company and uses his geek squad to solve mysteries and save lives.
