John Locke’s Wish List Hits Bookstore Shelves

John Locke’s new book, Wish List, is not only now available in print; you will find it on the shelves of your local bookstore.  You can also pick up a copy in the airport shop just before you leave on that next trip.

Has the renowned Indie jumped ship?  Not at all according to Locke in a Feb 5th post on his blog.  He explains that Simon & Schuster will distribute his book Wish list but under his own imprint, John Locke Books.  He remains an independent self-published author.  Just as Amazon distributes Locke’s books in a new age world, S&S now does so in the legacy world of brick and mortar.

Locke’s move is a sharp contrast to the implied “why bother?” attitude in Joe Konrath’s post of February 13th.  In his blog “A Newbie’s Guide to Publishing,” Joe Konrath makes it pretty clear that he thinks that bookstores have lost the battle—Amazon wins.
